Cooperator Account
The Cooperator Account is not a product we are selling you. It is the financial arm of your SACCO membership — a fully regulated cooperative banking experience owned entirely by its members, built on the Zimbabwe Co-operative Societies Act [Chapter 24:05] and equivalent African cooperative legislation.

The Banking Revolution
Commercial banks are owned by shareholders who extract profit from your transactions, your savings, and your credit. Co-op Pay SACCO is different — it is owned by you and every other Cooperator who has joined. Surplus generated by the SACCO is returned to members, not paid out to outside investors.
"A bank that is owned by its depositors, governed by its members, and regulated for their protection — that is not a fintech feature. That is a cooperative institution."
Co-op Pay SACCO · coops.africaAccount Features
The Cooperator Account is available exclusively to registered coops.africa members who have completed KYC verification. It is not a bank account in the commercial sense — it is a SACCO member account, with rights and protections that commercial accounts cannot offer.
Access credit through your SACCO — reviewed by your cooperative community, not a corporate credit algorithm. Use your credit to shop in the Co-op Store online or in person at Cooperator and Co-op outlets across the network.

Mukando
Cooperative Rotating Savings
Mukando — Digitised & Regulated
Mukando — known across Africa as chama, susu, tontine, or stokvel — is a rotating savings group where members contribute regularly and each takes a full payout in turn. On coops.africa, this centuries-old cooperative practice is formalised, digitised, and protected within your regulated SACCO membership.
No more informal agreements. No more risk of non-payment. Every contribution and payout is recorded, enforced, and protected by cooperative by-laws and the Co-operative Societies Act.
Cooperative Investment
Your Cooperator Account gives you direct access to Co-operative Debenture investments through CDEx — Africa's first regulated cooperative debenture exchange. Invest in commodity-backed, insured debentures issued by verified cooperative societies.
Browse cooperative debentures listed on CDEx — each backed by a real commodity and insured across the value chain.
Bearer debentures are negotiable — you can hold them to maturity or trade them on the exchange through your account.
All debentures on CDEx are issued under a Securities Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe licensed exchange, providing formal investor protections.
How to Open Your Account
There is no separate application. When you register on coops.africa and complete your KYC verification, your Cooperator Account is created as part of your Co-op Pay SACCO membership — because the account and the membership are the same thing.
Visit coops.africa/user/register and create your account. This initiates your Co-op Pay SACCO membership application and begins the account opening process.
Submit your identity documents and cooperative society details. KYC is required by the Co-operative Societies Act and protects every other member you will interact with and transact through.
Once verified, your account is live. You can begin saving, applying for credit, joining Mukando groups, browsing CDEx debentures, and spending within the Co-op community — immediately.
Co-op Pay SACCO operates under the Zimbabwe Co-operative Societies Act [Chapter 24:05] and equivalent cooperative legislation across Africa. Your rights as a member, your savings, your credit agreements, and your Mukando contributions are all governed by a formal legal framework — not a corporate terms-of-service document that can be changed overnight. Your money is in an institution your community owns.
Register on coops.africa, complete your KYC, and your Cooperator Account opens automatically — with savings, credit, Mukando, debenture investment, and cooperative spending all in one place.
